May 19 Opening Reception:
5:00-8:00 pm
At the opening from 5-8 there will be a Painter/Dancer collaboration by Siona Benjamin and Ishrat Hoque. In this collaboration, dancer [Hoque] assumes the roles of characters in Benjamin's paintings. Participants are invited to pose for a souvenir photo with Ishrat.

For "Please Touch," Monovich invites participants to write, draw or scribble directly on the surface of a site-specific drawing entitled "Spellbound." Viewer collaboration and graffiti are essential for the completion of this work.

“Please Touch” blurs the line between object and performance, artist and participant. Each artist in this exhibition will examine the viewer/artwork relationship in a new way. Works in "Please Touch" require no prerequisites for their comprehension; meaning is derived from direct experience. Thus, the target audience for this exhibition will include viewers of all ages, disciplines and backgrounds. Several works in the show require the participation of viewers for their completion. Interactive qualities of the works place an emphasis on discovery, critical thinking and exchange.
